Information

Ready for the mix.

Prepare tracks that line up in Pro Tools.

Before booking, send a ZIP through the inquiry form. We will listen, review the scope, and decide whether the project is a fit. Uploading does not confirm acceptance or a booking.

One portable audio package

  1. Export individual tracks as WAV or AIFF, ideally 24-bit at the project’s original sample rate. Do not change speed or sample rate just for upload. Export virtual instruments to audio.
  2. Export every track from exactly the same start point (usually the beginning of the session). Include leading silence, the full song and effect tails. This keeps everything aligned when imported into Pro Tools.
  3. Name tracks clearly: Song_LeadVocal.wav, Song_Drums.wav, etc. For mixing, individual tracks give more control than grouped stems. For mastering, include your stereo mix and explain the goal.
  4. Include a reference mix (WAV, AIFF or MP3). In a TXT note, include tempo, sample rate, song title, desired sound and whether tuning, effects or processing are printed. When practical include dry and processed versions of important sounds.
  5. Compress the audio and notes into one standard ZIP, up to 2 GB and 512 entries. No password, split archive, nested ZIP, plugins or executables. Very highly compressed or malformed archives may be rejected. If the package is larger, send an inquiry to arrange another transfer.

From your DAW to Pro Tools

BandLab, Logic Pro, Ableton Live and other DAWs use different session formats. A native project file alone is not enough. Export audio first; the studio imports the WAV/AIFF files onto separate Pro Tools tracks at the same session start. Plugin settings, automation and MIDI are not automatically translated.

BandLab

Use BandLab on the web to download each track as WAV. Some mobile export options are M4A-only; use the web version when WAV is unavailable. If a track download trims leading silence, render it from the session start before packaging. Check that all files line up against your reference mix.

Pro Tools

Consolidate tracks over a common full-song selection, then export the resulting audio clips. Include audio files, not only a .ptx session. Keep originals before consolidating.

Logic Pro

Use track audio export with a common start/end range. Render software instruments and include tails. Check whether effects and volume/pan are included, and describe that choice in your notes.

Ableton Live

Set a common render start and length, then export individual tracks as WAV/AIFF. Include effect returns when needed, and explain whether master/return processing is printed.

Check before sending

Import the exported files into an empty session at the same start point and compare with the reference mix. Listen for missing instruments, clipped audio, drift and cut-off endings. A successful upload confirms file receipt, not musical quality, DAW compatibility or project acceptance.
